My web strategy

My personal web pages are read best using a rather large font type. I prefer e.g. Helvetica Adobe 18.0 within the NETSCAPE Communicator 7 on a 21-inch screen. There are only very few texts included in graphics, like the welcome-address on my main page, therfore you can select the font type and size YOU like best!
My name is often written as Woehl and sometimes as Wohl; this is important for search engines ! Here I use the HTML form of the vowel mutation to obtain the correct written german form: Wöhl.
To allow a short access time to my main page, I have written only a very short text (HTML format, < 1 kB) on my main page and include only two small images (JPG format, about 15 and 6 kB). This allows even with a very slow connection to read something immediately. - You can find many images and movies within my pages. In general I give the format and the sizes of the files you get.

Most of my colleagues speak and write in english. It would be too much work for me to maintain my personal web pages in more than one language. If you have problems reading the text, you may try the translation services offered in the web. Of course you may write to me also in german - my mother language. I understand also very basic spanish in written form. With short italian or french texts (e.g. e-mails) I would have problems, but would also try to understand them.

The contents of my WWW pages serve for many different purposes:
- Give quick access to my files (e.g. my publications - or using special subdirectories)
- Allow other scientists to check my active projects (e.g. my interests, my projects)
- Share computer hardware and software experience with others (e.g. what else ?)
- Allow to check optimal connections with me (e.g. contacts with plan-file)
- Answer questions I obtain(ed) (e.g. public relations)
- Tell friends about my activities and interests besides my profession (e.g. what else ?)
- etc.
The contents of my WWW pages are updated in general at least once a week, therefore don't hesitate to send me e.g. suggestions for improvements or topics you would like to find here. All my pages contain my e-mail address at their bottom, just use it.
If you intend to use the material I present for private purposes and e.g. want to copy material on your own webpage, I do not mind. I would be happy to be informed !
If you intend to use any material (either text or images) from my personal webpages for commercial activities, please ask me before you use it, because the copyrights may belong to somebody else ! Thank you !
My personal WWW pages are stored on a server in the Kiepenheuer-Institut für Sonnenphysik (KIS).
